Meet Sopha and her family

Sopha has been with us at Babel from the very first start. She started as housekeeping staff, with no English knowledge. Now she is one of our most important staff taking care of the kitchen and training all new housekeeping staff.

Her English is fluent, after being sponsored through our Education Program with English education and talking with guests.

Sopha is married to one of Babel´s Tuk Tuk drivers Mr Heang, who also had no English knowledge when he started with us. Like Sopha, he learned English while socializing with guests from Babel.

Sopha and Heang are not the only ones working at Babel Guesthouse from this family. Sopha´s niece Sohm is one of our housekeeping staff - also an important member of our team.

With three persons from the same family without a job, it will be difficult to make ends meet.
